Them Two Dance

Them Two Dance

Them Two Dancewas formed in Zaragoza, Spain in 2012 by Katherine Hollinson and Connor Quill. Since their formation, they have toured their various dance projects across Europe and are currently performing at festivals across Yorkshire this summer. Their first joint project, Oltre la Luna, was formed in Spain and performed in the UK, Spain and Italy. After this successful venture, Connor and Katherine continued their passion for dance and outdoor performances and together created “Shiny Shorts”, which was subsequently toured at dance festivals around the UK.

Their latest project is titled “Random Acts of Kindness”, and will be featured on the 26th June at the Leeds Waterfront Festival. This innovative piece involves the duo riding around on a tandem bicycle and encourages its unsuspecting audience members to perform small ‘random acts of kindness’, such as helping the pair out if they get a ‘puncture’. The idea was inspired by the need for more kindness in the world, and the pair frequently holds ‘Talk Shops’ around the UK to find out what acts of kindness the public want to see in their communities. This performance piece is brand new and has been specially commissioned by Yorkshire Dance Amplified to be toured at Yorkshire festivals throughout the summer to raise the profile of outdoor dance performances.

Connor and Katherine will start their journey at 11am at Leeds Dock at the Dock 29 café bar. They will be there to drink tea and talk to customers about random acts of kindness they would like to see integrated into the days performance. If you would like to contribute to the days performance, you can complete a special random acts of kindness card on the run up to the festival at Dock 29 and post it in the special post box at the bar.

Look out for Connor and Katherine’s #RandomTandem roaming around all our different sites on the Sunday of the Waterfront Festival, this fantastic interactive performance is absolutely not to be missed!
