Something for everyone at Leeds Dock
If you’re looking for something fun for all the family this weekend, then the Leeds Dock site at Leeds Waterfront Festival has it all! Water sports, kid’s activities, food, drink and competitive spectacles will ensure that the waterfront celebrations go off with a bang!
The legendary Dragon Boat races are definitely something not to miss, at teams from some of Leeds’ most prolific businesses battle it out in a race to the finish! Go and cheer on your favourites and don’t forget to donate some money, as all proceeds with be going to Heart Research UK. For more competition, there’ll also be a water polo tournament that will see teams from all over Yorkshire come to play!
There’ll be some great music too! The Do Rite Trio will be bringing their liquid jazz to the dock, plus there’s a Soul Band, Malaika that’s joining in the fun. We’ll also welcome DJ Sara Garvey from KMAH Radio, and Tony Green & Mark Young, who’ll be entertaining the crowds.
If food’s the thing you’re after, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Dock 29 will be having a Mr Brown’s Soul Kitchen takeover for the whole weekend, who will come from Huddersfield to serve up authentic Caribbean street food. Talking of street food, the British Street Food Awards are also being hosted by Leeds Dock…try it all and vote for your favourites!
If you’re wanting a bit of exercise, the Seven Bridges Walk sets off from Leeds Dock on Sunday at both 11:30 and 15:30 and will take you on a waterside walk where you’ll experience an interactive performance with stories and music from Multi-Story Water.
Add to this the family-friendly children’s area, SKY Kids, there really is something for everyone!
