Leeds Waterfront Festival Food and Drink Guide
At the Waterfront Festival, when there’s so much going on, it can be hard to choose where to set up camp and collect your fuel for the day. Street food to grab and go while you’re participating in the entertainment, restaurants for those looking for sit-down meals and where to grab the best drinks deals; we’ve put together a fool-proof guide to eating and drinking around the festival!
The first of three of Ossett Brewery’s Granary Wharf offerings, Archie’s is housed under the dark arches below Leeds Rail Station. With décor that has an aquatic theme, festival goers will be right at home! Serving up high quality ingredients throughout their brunch, tapas style small plates and main dishes menus, whether you’re ravenous after a canoeing or just fancying a snack, there’ll be something to suit every taste. Complement your meal with a Calypso cocktail or a pint of Ossett Brewery’s ale.
The Hop is a traditional pub with all the little nooks and crannies. Just what you want from a proper ale house, The Hop has a number of permanent real ales and takes pride in their choices. If beer’s not for you, the pub has all the usuals; wine, cider, spirits and soft drinks! For food, try one of the tasty pies from The Pie Hole!

Located on the bottom floor of the fascinating cylindrical building that is Candle House, Candle Bar offers wood-fired pizzas, sharing boards and a selection of salads. In a relaxed and classy environment, eat your pizzas with a glass of one of the 20 premium bottles of wine, poured through of the Enomatic preservation machines.

Offering both traditional and contemporary tapas, Bilbao is located under the arches at Granary Wharf. Bringing a little bit of Spain to the waterfront, choose from calamari, tortilla and Iberico pork to name just a few. They also pride themselves on their cocktails as well as their tapas. They have sparkling cava cocktails, all of the classics and their own signature drinks – make sure you give them a try!

Open for breakfast from 7:30am, LIVIN’Italy offer continental pastries as well as Italo-English breakfast options – perfectly combined to create an amazing start to your day. Throughout the day, they serve up paninis and pizzas, as well as Italian classics for dinner. Cocktails and fine wine to finish off the day – it doesn’t get much better!
DoubleTree by Hilton
The swanky DoubleTree by Hilton homes several drinking and dining options. Head to the SkyLounge for cocktails, with stunning panoramic views of the city and to catch the festival action from the clouds! The City Café and Granary Lounge will be serving up some special fish dishes (talk about that for a waterfront theme!) as well as their menu of high-class classics. Home comforts such as ‘Beef and ale pie’ and ‘Chilli con carne’ are available as well as stone baked pizzas, sandwiches and salads. Proper grub in a classy atmosphere.

Fazenda Bar & Grill
One for the carnivores here, Fazenda is a traditional Brazilian Rodizio grill at Granary Wharf. For a fixed price, waiters will bring you all-you-eat-meat, and carve it at your table on your request! Not only this, there’s an amazing bar packed with colourful and vibrant salads and sides to calm your meat sweats. Booking over the weekend is advised.
Out of The Woods
On the corner of Granary Wharf, Out Of The Woods offers a breakfast menu, speciality sandwiches and warming soups, all in a cosy woodland setting. Start your day off with a bacon butty or granola yoghurt pot on Saturday morning before the festivities begin. They also offer juices, smoothies, coffee and tea to keep you refreshed all day.
The Pour House
With a large outside dining area looking over Granary Wharf and the launch of their new menu, The Pour House is a great choice if you’re looking for a variety of classics! Fish and chips, halloumi hanging derricks, ribs, fajitas, salads and sandwiches, there truly is something for everyone. Wash your meal down with one of the many permanent and guest lagers or ales, or with choice of 20 long G&Ts.
One of the most prominent bars on Leeds Dock at the moment, Dock 29 will be having a Mr Brown’s Soul Kitchen take-over. Authentic Caribbean street food which is simple yet bursting with flavour; they’ve come over from Huddersfield to feed up the crowds. Wash it down with one of the drinks offerings from the bar…spirits, wine, beer and hot drinks!
Leeds Dock houses a branch of one of the most popular pizza chains in the country! Pizza Express offers a menu of crispy, thin Classic and Romana pizzas, plus salads and a children’s menu. Our top tip is to have a look on the internet for a discount code – they’re often available and you could get a discount on your meal over the weekend!
Indian food at its best, Mumtaz by Chandelier offers a whole menu of authentic dishes. Packed with all the usuals (pakoras, samosas, chicken tikkas to start, curries and biryanis for the mains and traditional Indian desserts) as well as British classics chicken nuggets and fish fingers for the kids, there’ll be no complaints here! Drinks-wise they offer a number of juices, lassis, coffees and mocktails!
British Street Food Awards
Leeds Dock are hosting the British Street Food Awards over festival weekend, where there’ll be a whole host of offerings; burgers, desserts, steaks, baos and curries. Check out our specific blog to find out what everyone is offering!
At the Victoria Wharf site, over the weekend Brasserie Blanc will be serving up crepes and patisserie-style cakes alongside a BBQ and food stalls outside on the terrace. If al fresco dining isn’t for you, normal service will be ongoing inside, but make sure you book, it’s sure to be busy one!
Offer: Many of the cocktails will be £5 and there’ll be a beer/bubbly bike bar dishing out drinks deals.
A tapas bar on Brewery Wharf, Azucar offer up a menu of fish, meat and vegetarian small plates including more unusual dishes such as Heuvos Rotos (a Spanish take on egg and chips with chorizo). Sangria, tequila, and rum cocktails and sangria will help get the Brewery Wharf party started!
An Italian restaurant on Dock Street, serving up pasta dishes and pizzas as well as traditional mains, located in a stunning converted mill building!

With the City’s largest outside terrace, Oracle is definitely the place to be if the sun is shining! With a waterfront view, the bar serves up street food from its rotating kitchen residents. This weekend, it’s Burnt Onion who offer twists on the classics. Fish & chips with tempura sea trouts and twisted pot noodle are some of the things you’ll find! Only available for brunch, 12-2pm Sat and Sun.

Coffee shop and deli Yum Yum is great for those that don’t want to miss much action and want to grab something to take away or stay in for just a quick bite. Great for breakfast, they have a Full English, Big Bap and Omelettes to get you started for a weekend of amazing activities! Served all day at the weekend.
Calls Landing are famous for their stew and oysters, and that’s just what they’ll be serving up! Their normal menu has 12 stews (including traditional and some more unusual), they have oysters with some amazing garnishes to bring out the flavour and they have the ‘non stew and oyster bit’ which includes sandwiches and cheese/meat boards. They’ll have an outside bar where they’re giving out free oysters, have a wide variety of gins and loads of beers from around the world!
A tapas and sherry bar on The Calls, this eatery offers Yorkshire twists on traditional Spanish tapas, flavourful paella dishes as well as sharing platters and nibbles. Whether you want a quick lunch or a full-on feast, choose what dishes you like and they come as their ready – for a sociable dining experience!
Brasserie Forty 4
Also on the wonderfully cobbled Dock Street is family run business Brasserie Forty 4 which offers up fine British meals with a magnificent waterside terrace overlooking the river Aire. Choose from pork tenderloin wrapped in Parma ham, lamp rump with chargrilled veg and many more hearty dishes.
Another bar with a fantastic waterside terrace, Aire Bar is known for its fantastic well-priced burgers from the Yorkshire Burgaire Company. High end restaurant Shears Yard is for those wanting to make an occasion of the festival. A little pricier but definitely worth it, this perfectly curated menu includes dishes such as seared duck breast, curry roasted heritage carrot and fillet of beef with ox cheek croquettes!
The Tetley Bar and Kitchen
To feed you up during their ‘Tetley Weekender’, the Tetley’s Bar and Kitchen has an amazing menu of classic and filling meals (the fish and chips and phenomenal) which will keep you going all day! They also have a brunch menu, kid’s meals and a drinks menu of wine, beer, cocktails, soft drinks and coffees!
